Benford and safety Damar Hamlin ran into each other attempting to tackle Xavier Worthy. The result was Benford having to be taken out of the game completely.
Losing Benford for the game is going to severely impact the Bills’ secondary. With Benford out, the team will rely on Kaair Elam or Cam Lewis to step in and help the team bring home the important win.
The Bills are attempting to take down the Chiefs, who have been the team’s proverbial kryptonite for years. Kansas City has continued to find ways to win, leading to their No. 1 seed and first-round bye week in the playoffs.
With a rested team, the Chiefs handily beat the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Now, they look to take down the Bills en route to their potential third Super Bowl victory in a row.
The Bills, on the other hand, have had to take down the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens to meet their foes in the AFC Championship.
At the time of this writing, the game can go either way. The Chiefs hold a small lead with a 7-3 score. This is still anyone’s game.
The issue is the Bills just lost their starting cornerback in Benford.

More reports have come out about the injury, and Benford has already been ruled out with a concussion. The secondary star likely did not have to do much testing to reveal that he suffered a significant head injury.
While Benford was sitting on the cart, he appeared to be very affected by the headshot he took from Damlin. Hopefully, he can heal up and be ready to go if the Bills are to advance to the Super Bowl.
Concussions and the corresponding concussion protocol can often take time to get by, so Benford might miss the Super Bowl if Buffalo advances.
