The Tigers, the No. 6 national seed, improved to 2-0 in Omaha with a victory on Tuesday afternoon against UCLA. Arkansas, the highest seed to get to the CWS at No. 3, stayed alive with a win on Tuesday night against UCLA.

LSU needed parts of two days to beat UCLA 9-5 in a game that began on Monday night and forced a continuation on Tuesday after rain suspended the game. After trailing 3-0 after the top of the first inning, Jared Jones belted a three-run home run in the bottom of the frame to give the Tigers the lead, and they never looked back. Jones leads the team with 21 home runs and 74 RBIs

When the Razorbacks played UCLA in the nightcap, the team led wire to wire. The Razorbacks scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and eventually got a 7-3 win to eliminate UCLA. Arkansas led 7-0 before the Bruins plated three runs in the top of the ninth inning. Logan Maxwell drove in two runs, and Zach Root worked five scoreless innings. Wehiwa Aloy leads the team with 21 home runs, while younger brother Kuhio Aloy has 70 RBIs.

The Tigers beat Arkansas 4-1 in the teams’ first game in Omaha on Saturday, thanks to seven strong innings from Kade Anderson. He allowed a run on three hits.
