There following article contains heavy spoilers for “Daredevil: Born Again.”
There’s already plenty of speculation that in spite of the events depicted in the “Daredevil: Born Again” premiere, Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) isn’t dead, including the fact that both Henson and Deborah Ann Woll have been confirmed to return for “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2. Now, the official Instagram page for the show seems to be hinting at Foggy’s return with an interesting choice in graphics.

As you can see in the post above, the official “Daredevil: Born Again” page shared a series of graphics comparing moments from the show to moments from the comics. If you click over to the second slide, it compares Foggy Nelson’s death scene in the show to his comic book counterpart’s supposed death scene in 2006’s “Daredevil” #82.

The reason this seems like a big hint that Foggy is alive in the show is because, in the comic being referenced, Foggy likewise ends up alive. He shows up six issues later, in “Daredevil” #88, alive and in witness protection.
This isn’t the first potential hint that the show is following the source material as far as Foggy Nelson secretly being alive. Eagle-eyed fans noticed an Easter egg in the “Daredevil: Born Again” premiere that could be another tip. When Matt (Charlie Cox), Foggy, and Karen (Woll) are leaving their office, we see the number of their building is 468.
According to Marvel Comics’s legacy numbering (i.e. the number the comic would be if the title had never been rebooted), 2006’s “Daredevil” #88 – the issue in which Foggy Nelson was revealed to be alive – is the 468th issue of “Daredevil.”
If Foggy is alive and in witness protection, it begs the question of exactly what he’s a witness to. Bullseye’s (Wilson Bethel) attack is portrayed as the killer being out for vengeance, but if Foggy is in witness protection it suggests someone hired him to do it.
Foggy Nelson’s death isn’t the only murder on the show wrapped in mystery. The third episode of the series ends with the White Tiger (Kamar de los Reyes) being shot in the head and killed by a man wearing a Punisher skull logo on his shirt. In the following episode we learn the killer was neither the real Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) nor was it NYPD Officer Powell (Hamish Allan-Headley).
