Gracie Abrams has canceled her Friday, February 28 show in Brussels, Belgium, due to a “gnarly” illness.
The “That’s So True” singer, 25, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, February 27, one day before the show, to share with fans that she had to cancel the gig due the advice of her doctor.
“First thing I have to say is I love you with my whole heart and I have been so looking forward to being together in your beautiful city,” Abrams — who is in the middle of her The Secret of Us tour — penned in a handwritten letter to her fans.

“My body has been fighting off something gnarly for the past week, and despite doing everything in my power to keep it contained, it has gotten to a point where all medical advice I’ve received says I cannot perform and need to rest,” she explained. “At this point in time I can’t give you the show you deserve and that breaks my heart, especially knowing all the travel and the planning and the care that you put into attending our shows.”
The “Close to You” artist added: “You make it all so magical and that is what I want to give back to you as soon as we can be together,” noting that her “every intention is to make this right” and is working on a rescheduled date for fans.
“I’m so grateful for your support and your understanding,” she concluded the letter. “I miss you and I love you very much.”

As a consolation, Abrams’ opening act, Dora Jar, extended an invitation to fans to head down to Brussels cocktail bar L’Archidu at 9 p.m. on Friday night. “For those of u who still want to get together and hear us play some songs tonight,” Jar shared via her own Instagram Story, which Abrams reposted.
“I love your heart and your brain and I will miss you so much tonight,” the “I Love You, I’m Sorry” singer captioned her repost.
It has been a whirlwind month for Abrams, who — in addition to touring the European leg of her album — dropped her collaboration with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, “Call Me When You Break Up,” last week.
Earlier this month, she attended the 2025 Grammy Awards in honor of her nomination for Best Pop Duo/Performance for “Us,” her collaboration with Taylor Swift — though the track lost out to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile.”
