Negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) appear to be inching closer to the reunification of golf. According to a report by the Associated Press, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan are in Washington for another meeting with President Donald Trump.
Late Wednesday night, the almost simultaneous arrival in Washington D.C. of jets belonging to the PGA Tour and one of its player directors, Adam Scott, was reported, which suggested a meeting with President Trump was in the near future.
The information was released by the X account, radaratlas2, which tracks aircraft movements around the world. The report indicates the landing at Dulles International Airport in the U.S. capital of aircraft with registration numbers N795HG (PGA Tour) and N716AS (Adam Scott).

A later report from radaratlas2 indicates that Air Force One landed at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, shortly before. This suggests that President Donald Trump may also be in Washington D.C. for a potential meeting.
On the other hand, PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan is also in the United States as he is one of the top participants of the FII – Priority Miami 2025 event organized by the Future Investment Initiative Institute. Al-Rumayyan attended the special address offered by Donald Trump at the same event on Wednesday afternoon.
The PIF Governor is spoke Thursday morning, after which he may have traveled to Washington D.C.

Two weeks ago, President Trump received PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Adam Scott, in his capacity as Player Director, at the White House. Both Monahan and Scott later stated that they discussed negotiations with the PIF and that the meeting was very productive.
Woods made the initial trip. However, he was unable to attend the meeting amidst the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods.
Subsequently, other recent interactions with President Trump have been revealed.

On February 9, he was seen playing a round of golf with Tiger Woods, another PGA Tour player director and a key participant in the negotiations. Days later, Rory McIlroy revealed that he played a round with the President earlier this year, during which they also discussed the current state of men’s professional golf.
According to McIlroy, Trump assured him that he did not like the format followed by LIV Golf, despite having hosted several of its events at facilities on his property. The Northern Irishman does not currently hold a seat on the PGA Tour board, but is part of the negotiating team with the PIF.
The PGA Tour and the PIF announced a framework agreement in June 2023. Since then, they have been working on a definitive agreement, but have not yet been able to finalize it.
