A woman has shared how she struck gold in a thrift store, discovering a dupe of one of fashion’s most legendary dresses—the Versace safety pin gown—for just $6.30.

Keziah, who lives in Sheffield, U.K., shared the jaw-dropping find on her TikTok @artbeautychaos, where she said she was “screaming” at the discovery.

“I found it while just wandering around the charity shop to kill time while waiting for the bus. I was initially drawn to it because I loved the safety pin details and it was very much my style, but I actually passed on trying it on at first because I’d not planned on buying anything that day,” she told Newsweek.

When she got home, she couldn’t stop thinking about the dress, and started looking it up.

“I kept thinking about it and that’s when I looked it up, found the original and all the pics of celebrities wearing it,” Keziah said.

She rushed back to see if the dress was still available, and thankfully it was. “I did buy it and now I’m just waiting to be invited to some kind of fancy event or somewhere to wear it to,” she said.

The TikTok post has since gained attention, and Keziah was stunned by the reaction. “I shared it on TikTok because I put it on my Instagram story and it got 50,000 views and everyone loved it, so I thought TikTok would like it too. I’m surprised by the reaction because it was such a random accidental find but I’m definitely going to be hunting for more dupes like it next time I’m in a charity shop,” she said.

The original Versace safety pin dress is regarded as one of the most iconic red-carpet looks of all time, pushing fashion boundaries and cementing Elizabeth Hurley’s status as a style icon.

The dress, designed by Gianni Versace in 1994, became a symbol of bold, daring fashion and revolutionized acceptable attire at high-profile events. In later years, Donatella Versace reimagined the design, while Christopher Kane introduced a ready-to-wear version under the Versus Versace label in 2010. The design has also been replicated by other brands, including Bernshaw—the label behind Keziah’s charity shop find.
