Former TNA Champion Reportedly Bound for AEW

Josh Alexander has been wrestling professionally since 2005, mostly appearing on the independent circuit and working with promotions like Ring of Honor, AAW Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and Alpha-1 Wrestling.

While Alexander has a long and storied career, he is currently most well known for his time with Impact/Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Alexander began wrestling for TNA in 2018 as an enhancement talent before signing a contract in 2019 and becoming one of the most popular wrestlers in company history.

Unfortunately, Alexander’s time with TNA has officially came to an end when he lost to Eric Young and had to quit the company.

“I’m a man of my word,” Alexander said. “I quit. I said I’d look you eye to eye and shake your hand. You’re the standard of TNA now. I quit tonight. But I quit TNA, too.”

Now, the question remains for fans where Alexander is heading next. Apparently, the Walking Weapon already knows where he’s going.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Alexander is expected to head to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) after his TNA contract expired on Feb. 14, 2025.

While there is no news on whether a deal has officially been signed, Fightful Select received confirmation of the news from multiple sources, including Alexander’s agent, Barry Bloom.

Alexander has had a wildly successful tenure in TNA, winning the World Tag Team Championship twice with Ethan Page, the X Division Championship once, and the TNA World Championship twice.

In fact, Alexander holds the record for longest (335 days) and shortest (a few minutes) World Championship reigns in company history.

In response to leaving TNA, Alexander has made a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter) thanking the promotion, everyone he has worked with, and his family.

“My 6 years in TNA have been amazing,” Alexander said. “I’ve made lifelong friends and people I call family. I was able to travel the world with my wife when she joined the company as their Ring Announcer for a couple of years. My 6 year old son Jett, has grown up only knowing that his dad is a TNA wrestler.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunities I got here to show what I could do. I am also eternally grateful for the mentoring and coaching that was so freely given to me over the years. I wouldn’t be half the wrestler I am today, without it.”

“Thank you for all the memories,” Alexander concluded. “If it all ended today I’d be more than satisfied and that’s because of all of you. I will be eternally grateful for TNA and carry TNA with me in my heart for the rest of my career.”
