A video of a dog stopping his walk with his owner to reveal a treasure immediately went viral on TikTok, amassing 25.1 million views within a week.
Simon the corgi was enjoying the walk when something stopped him in his tracks. As seen in the clip posted to the TikTok account @hannnnnnnab, his owner wanted Simon to keep moving and jump onto the sidewalk to avoid a stream rushing down the street. But Simon didn’t care about getting wet.
The dog started sniffing around the leaves and water. Then he pulled something out of the pile with his mouth. The owner quickly asked: “What is that?” He then told him to “leave it,” and the dog immediately dropped the item. But somehow Simon knew its importance and didn’t move from what he had discovered.
The owner stepped closer to see what his dog had found and started wondering whether his eyes were deceiving him. He first asked whether it was $50, then he repeated the words, this time with excitement when he realized it was real.
Simon had found, by pure luck, a $50 bill floating down the stream. The owner couldn’t believe he had become $50 richer, and fortunately he changed his mind on having Simon leave it behind. They were at the right place at the right time.
The caption reads: “Someone got extra treats for this find!”
It didn’t matter that the $50 bill was soaking wet. Money is money, and the owner happily took it with him. Plus, Simon earned himself the title of the “bestest boy” thanks to his find.

Others demanded Simon get properly compensated for his work: “That should be 100% his. In his bank account. 50$ in toys and treats. What a good boy.”
Luckily, the viewers’ suggestions worked. A follow-up video revealed that Simon’s owners took him to the pet store to splurge on him for bringing home some extra money.
