A dog owner has left internet viewers in stitches after revealing why her dog made her feel like a clown during a walk.

While Sisian Sadler, 31, was walking her goldendoodle, Archie, the pup suddenly stopped while crossing the street. It was certainly odd for Archie not to want to walk, as Sadler, from Brooklyn, New York, told Newsweek that she felt “immediately concerned” for his well-being.

After a quick check, Sadler noticed that Archie’s back left paw was inflamed. When they finally got to the other side of the street, the owner spent around 15 minutes trying to encourage her 4-year-old dog to keep going, but no amount of fuss or encouragement would work.

“I thought, maybe if he had some rest or motivation, he would muster up the energy to walk,” Sadler said. “I tried to get him to walk a few times and, when he really wouldn’t budge, I realized I had to carry him. He doesn’t like being carried so, when he let me do it, I knew he was experiencing discomfort.”

They were still half-a-mile away from home, but Sadler had to pick up her 70-pound goldendoodle and carry him. Understandably, that posed a variety of problems for the owner, who is only 5 feet tall.

For four blocks, Sadler put her difficulties to one side and held Archie in her arms. Multiple people laughed at her predicament, but she told Newsweek “none of that mattered” at the time. All she cared about was getting Archie home safely.

Sadler said: “I felt ridiculous carrying him because I knew how silly it looked. He’s a very lanky dog, so, with every step, his body was flopping to different sides. He looked like a giant teddy bear being lugged around by a tiny woman, but I knew my boy was hurt.”

Eventually, Sadler enlisted the help of her husband to get the dog the rest of the way home. He met her on the way, and, to her amazement, Archie started walking as soon as he saw his other owner.

The pain and discomfort seemed to disappear, and Archie was even well enough to jog for a bit, leaving Sadler feeling like “a clown.”

She said she believes it was caused by a rush of adrenaline from Archie seeing his human before the pain returned.

Sadler told Newsweek: “Can a dog gaslight you? Because I felt like I was being gaslit. When my husband got there and Archie casually started strolling, it completely contradicted what I dealt with. I was so surprised and a little annoyed when I saw him walk normally because I felt like I was imagining things.

“Once we got home, we washed his paws and applied protection balm. We made sure to keep an eye on him, so he didn’t lick the inflamed area, and he was good as new by nightfall,” Sadler added.

The Social Media Response

Sadler documented the experience and shared it on TikTok (@archiescrew), showing how foolish Archie made her feel. The video left social media users in hysterics, generating more than 606,600 views and over 87,400 likes in a matter of days.

Archie’s antics certainly amused the internet, as Sadler said the reaction has been “a whirlwind.” She is just happy that her dog can put a smile on so many faces.

“Archie brings our family so much joy, and it’s been great to see that his goofiness can deliver a similar sentiment to millions more,” Sadler said. “Like typical dog owners, we consider Archie the best dog in the world, and after seeing how much love he’s had online, we’ll make sure to share more of his goofy moments on TikTok.”

The hilarious video has amassed almost 800 comments at the time of writing, as many people lauded Archie’s silliness.
