A woman who is considering canceling going to her friend’s wedding to attend her Maid of Honor’s baby shower has been slammed on social media.

The woman and original poster (OP), Reddit user throwaway101101005, took to r/AmItheA****** to share her dilemma, explaining that her Maid of Honor (MOH) had recently announced her pregnancy.

The pair had been discussing plans for her baby shower with their friend “Ben”, and the MOH had wanted to schedule it for a weekend that clashed with a wedding the OP had committed to attending.

The OP also had plans to attend another event in the same location as the wedding with a separate friend, and when she expressed hesitation about canceling both plans, the conversation escalated.

“I explained that if it came down to it, I would cancel both of them for her baby shower, but it just sucks to be in this position,” the OP noted.

She continued, “I also feel upset that she doesn’t find it significant that I am being expected to cancel plans with multiple people that involve travel. Her opinion is I should have little problem canceling these other things for her baby shower.

“I love her, I will, but it still f****** sucks.”

Despite the disagreement, the two friends ultimately resolved the conflict, with the MOH choosing a different weekend for her baby shower. In an update, the OP clarified that had the date been set in stone from the beginning, she would not have objected to attending.

The argument, however, left her questioning whether she was wrong for initially refusing to change her plans or if her MOH was unreasonable in expecting her to do so.
