It’s very likely that when Mauricio Umansky was planning out his latest ski trip to Aspen, Colorado, he didn’t account for all the time he would end up spending at the hospital.
Umansky, 54, announced that he had suffered some major injuries while skiing in Aspen via a story post on Instagram that was uploaded on Friday, February 14.
In the post, the real estate agent shared a photograph of himself in a hospital gown with text that read, “I feel so blessed to be taken care of by such amazing humans.” He also specifically thanked ski patrol, paramedics, and Aspen Hospital and wrote, “You’re all the best.” Umansky ended the message with the news that he had broken his clavicle.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum also shared a picture of an X-ray of his upper chest with text that revealed his injuries call for surgery. Umansky wrote, “Let’s get this surgery done so I can heal,” before he added, “Play hard, sometimes you get hurt, but the care here has been incredible.”
The reality TV star also shared a clip of himself being escorted down the mountain by ski patrol while sporting a ski helmet and goggles.
Fans of the reality TV show commented on a post about the news on the Real Housewives subreddit to share their reactions.
“Clavicle?? Ouch!! It may humble him a bit, not as young as he thinks he is,” wrote one fan, while another was less sympathetic and said, “Rich people problems.”

A third fan, hopeful that the accident would reunite Umansky with his estranged wife, Kyle Richards, wrote, “Hopefully he realizes he needs a partner and he and Kyle get back together. I know it’s complicated, I just want them to have each other as they age even if they aren’t romantic partners.”
Umansky is the co-founder of The Agency, a brokerage located in Beverly Hills, and is most popularly known for his time on Real Housewives. He and Richards, 56, married in 1996 and share three daughters: Alexia, 28, Sophia, 25, and Portia, 16. Umansky and Richards, have been separated since 2023 but have not yet filed for divorce.
