A woman has revealed her hairdresser disaster in a viral video, after going to the salon for a touch-up and leaving feeling “devastated.”

Sash Striga (@sashstriga), an actress from Toronto, went to get a cut, which she was initially thrilled with, but when she returned for some final touches, things went wrong. Revealing her botched cut, she quickly garnered 4.7 million views and 225,900 likes on TikTok.

“Hair means a lot to people – women in particular. It’s a defining feature and holds a ton of meaning so I’d be lying if I said it didn’t affect me. As time has gone by I’ve found a way to like it, and I think I might be a short hair girlie for a while now,” she told Newsweek.

Wanting only a minor adjustment, she returned to the same stylist five days later, requesting that the back be taken slightly shorter and the sides narrowed. Given that he had done the original cut, she assumed he would remember the vision. “He did not,” she stated bluntly.

The moment the stylist made the first chop, she knew something had gone wrong. “He takes the hair off the side, and it just sticks out even worse,” she recalled. As tension mounted, she noticed the stylist becoming visibly stressed. He then started using clippers—which immediately alarmed her. “At that point, my heart dropped into my stomach,” she admitted. But despite her reservations, she trusted his expertise.

What was meant to be a quick, complimentary adjustment spiraled into a meticulous, hour-long reshaping. “He was so zoned in, hyper-focused on clipping,” she said, describing how the stylist became fixated on precise angles—a stark contrast to the “flirty, flowy, bohemian chic” style she had originally envisioned.

As the reality set in, she watched him grow increasingly nervous. “It’s like a ghost washed over him when he realized how badly he messed up,” she said.

After two hours in the chair, the ordeal finally came to an end. As the stylist rushed to accommodate his next client, he hurriedly washed and styled her hair, attempting to “reset” the cut.

But as she stared at the finished result, she struggled to hold back tears. “I wanted shorter. I certainly got shorter,” she quipped. Comparing her new look to that of an ex-boyfriend, she joked: “I look like this Italian guy I used to date,” she said while styling the fringe into a short, high pony tail.

Determined to make the best of the situation, she vowed to “rally” and find a way to style the unexpected cut. “I’m gonna look so hot,” she reassured herself, though she admitted: “I’m devastated.

TikTokers attempted to reassure the actress, offering styling suggestions to help her embrace the unexpected cut.

“Look at Ruby Rose and her styling,” one woman suggested, referring to the Australian model, actress and former Orange Is the New Black star known for her edgy, androgynous pixie cuts.

Another user drew a comedic comparison, commenting: “It’s not awful, but it’s giving Michael McIntyre,” referencing the British comedian known for his signature short, slightly tousled hairstyle.

Ryleigh encouraged the actress to experiment with texture. “Girl, that cut is sooo not horrible! Maybe try adding some curls to give it some body/movement. Texture spray will be your best friend! Look up Ruby Rose hairstyles! She’s the pixie queen!”

Paula Ogden suggested a vintage twist, recommending a ’70s-inspired look. “Maybe try styling like 1970s Goldie Hawn’s pixie cut. You actually may have to cut the top more & pull it forward.”

Despite her frustration, she made it clear that she held no ill-will toward the salon or the stylist. “I like the salon, I like the guy—everyone’s allowed to have an off day,” she admitted, adding that she may not have communicated her request effectively.

“I’ve always tried to trust my stylist as much as possible so I tried to hold onto positivity and pray it would just work out. I have worked really hard on looking at the bright side through all of this, and as I said in the video at the end of the day it’s just hair,” she concluded.
