The 2025 Grammys brought all kinds of fashion moments.
Chappell Roan showed up in a bright yellow gown with white-painted skin, Sabrina Carpenter went full Old Hollywood in silver and fringe, and Taylor Swift rocked Chiefs red. Jaden Smith’s look, though? Pure gothic drama — with a price tag to match.

On Sunday, February 2, the 26-year-old Karate Kid star hit the red carpet in a classic black Louis Vuitton tux, but it was his massive “Vampire Castle” headpiece that had everyone talking.
Designed by Transylvanian fashion house ABODI, the sculptural accessory featured towering turrets, gothic windows, and a circular opening for his face. As for the cost? Around $4,600, according to The New York Times.
ABODI described the design on Instagram as a fusion of “mysterious elegance” and “bold, modern design,” drawing inspiration from Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.
The internet, of course, had plenty to say.
“Hopefully he got paid 💰 to wear that,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Me claiming Head of Household on taxes this year,” another joked.
“I have never ever seen a ‘costüme’ or outfit this stupid😄😄😄,” chimed in a third.
Others praised the fashion choice.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Jaden Smith is a genius and his outfit was fire at the #GRAMMYs,” one fan said.
Turns out, this isn’t the first time Smith has leaned into a gothic aesthetic. Back in 2016, he told Numéro that he fully embraced vampire culture for a while. “During a period of my life, I was Gothic,” he said at the time. “I was only wearing black and I was hiding from the sun because I was a vampire.” When the interviewer asked if he was serious, Smith didn’t back down. “I was a vampire, for real,” he insisted. “I could not expose myself to the sun, and I was only wearing black trench coats.”

But Jaden wasn’t the only Smith making a statement at the Grammys. His sister, Willow Smith, went for a bold look of her own, wearing a sparkly Fleur du Mal bra and underwear set under a long black Alexander McQueen trench coat.
Their parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, skipped the red carpet, but the 56-year-old Fresh Prince of Bel Air icon made a surprise appearance later in the night to present a tribute to Quincy Jones. This marked Will’s first major awards show appearance since the 2022 Oscars incident, when he slapped Chris Rock onstage.
