
At long last, Nintendo has officially announced a Direct showcase for the Switch 2 handheld console, set for early April. The showcase was announced in the official Switch 2 reveal trailer following a tease by Nintendo last week when the company changed its social media banner to show Mario and Luigi pointing to a blank space behind them.

What to Expect From Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Showcase
The first thing that’s guaranteed to be shown at the Direct is, of course, the Switch 2 handheld console. Following that, the company may reveal a new line of peripherals, including a Pro controller.
Nintendo is expected to announce new games that take advantage of the Switch 2’s improved hardware. We know at least four games confirmed to be in development for the Switch successor: My Time At Evershine, Yooka-Replaylee, Bestario, and The Legend of Dark Witch Episode 4.

Rumors from various internet forums point to Mario Kart 9 being a key announcement, which might be bundled with the Switch 2 at launch. Expect a new 3D Mario game, possibly the sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has already been announced for the original Switch, but it’s possible that the game will be a cross-generational title. Likewise, Pokémon Legends: Z-A has also been announced for the original Switch, but it’s pretty much guaranteed to get a Switch 2 version.
