Chrissy Teigen threw together a last-minute celebration for her daughter Esti’s 2nd birthday on Monday, January 13. The Cravings author, 39, had to evacuate with her family from the home she shares with husband John Legend due to the California wildfires, but they were able to return just in time for the birthday celebration.The model did her best to create a memorable birthday cake for her toddler — by featuring two John Cena action figures on top of the chocolate confection.
The Lip Synch Battle host apparently felt that the cake was not up to her usual standards, as she wrote, “This is all I could muster up for Esti’s birthday,” on her Instagram Story when she shared the picture of the chocolate cake on Monday. However, she mentioned in the same caption that she was “feeling grateful to be back home.”

The Cena element of the cake dates back to a December 22 Reel, in which Teigen gifted her daughter a box of Cena action figures. “A few months ago, Esti mysteriously became obsessed with John Cena,” she wrote in the caption. “So I got her more John Cena’s and now she can’t do anything without a John Cena.” The toddler’s delight as she played with the action figures was palpable, so it makes sense that Teigen incorporated it into the birthday celebration.
Esti is the third of Teigen’s four children with Legend, 46. They are also proud parents to Luna, 8, Miles, 4, and Wren, 1.
The Legend-Teigen family is one of many celebrity households that has had to evacuate due to the wildfires that are devastating the Los Angeles area. While their home was not destroyed, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, and Miles Teller are a few of the stars whose homes have burned down completely, along with thousands of ordinary citizens.
