A devoted dog owner asked their local doggy daycare to send photos of their pup while they were away—and the results have sent the internet into a frenzy of laughter.
Redditor u/Nearby-Emotion7831 shared images of their rescue pup, Tater, during a day at pet care facility Camp Bow Wow in Clarkston, Michigan. While Tater’s sibling was staying at the facility for the week, Tater joined in for just a day—and her enthusiasm was impossible to miss. In every photo, Tater’s eyes bulged with what can only be described as pure joy.
“I’m so glad people are enjoying my googly-eyed girl so much!” the owner told Newsweek.
Tater, who was adopted from Genesee County Animal Control in Michigan, lives with a severe heart condition—pulmonic stenosis and a grade VI heart murmur.
Pulmonic stenosis is a congenital heart defect where the flow of blood from the heart to the lungs is obstructed, and a grade VI murmur is the most intense type of heart murmur, typically indicating a significant abnormality. Because of her health challenges, Tater’s playtime is limited to just a couple of hours a day.
Despite that, her owner tries to bring her and her sister to Camp Bow Wow about once a month, so they can enjoy socializing with other dogs in a safe, monitored environment.
“As you can see, it’s Tater’s favorite thing ever. Sometimes she gets put into timeout because she’s a little TOO excited to be there making friends (last time she was in timeout I believe it was because she was climbing their play equipment and leaping down onto the other dogs),” they said.
Tater’s particularly expressive face has baffled even her owner.
“I wish I knew why they do that, but that’s been her excited face since I adopted her. People often tell me they think she’s scared or aggressive and she’s not ever, she just has weird googly eyes,” they added.

Doggy daycare can offer wonderful benefits for pets like Tater—including socialization, stimulation, and exercise—but it’s not for every dog. The pros include helping with separation anxiety, burning off excess energy, and developing social skills, according to Wag! However, the cons can range from exposure to illnesses and injuries, to overwhelming stimulation for more sensitive dogs. It’s important for pet parents to assess their dog’s temperament and physical needs before enrolling.
Redditors couldn’t get enough of Tater’s wild-eyed daycare adventure.
“I love the crazy eyes. My pibble gets the same look when he is all wound up playing with me,” said one user.
“Staffie is like ‘I’m too old for this s***,'” joked another.
“I love the new set of crazy eyes!! That’s hilarious,” shared another.
“Hilarious content, thank you for sharing,” said another viewer.
“Hahahaha. these are hilarious!! What a cute poochie!!” wrote one more.
