At a Senate GOP lunch, Vice President JD Vance told colleagues that the goal is to get a reconciliation bill to President Donald Trump‘s desk by the August recess, multiple attendees told Punchbowl News’ Andrew Desiderio.

Vance told Republicans that the Senate must now pass its version of the bill by July 4 to stay on track, Desiderio reported.

President Trump had previously set a July 4 deadline for Congress to pass his sweeping tax and spending package, known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” and deliver it to his desk for signing.
