Browns Fans in Tears After Nick Chubb’s Heartfelt Message

Heading into the 2025 NFL offseason, the Cleveland Browns were widely expected to bring back longtime star running back Nick Chubb. While that was the expectation, things changed quickly.

During the 2025 NFL Draft, the Browns drafted two running backs. They also have Jerome Ford on the roster, which led to Chubb no longer being needed.

Chubb remained a free agent for quite some time, but recently agreed to a deal with the Houston Texans. He is officially leaving Cleveland, the only place he had played in the NFL and the place he had created into his home.

While he did not look like his old self in the eight game he played last season coming back from a second gruesome knee injury, the fans still loved him. He was the definition of who the Browns are.

On Thursday, Chubb posted a heartfelt farewell to Cleveland on Instagram. It was a message that has brought a lot of emotion to the fan base that loved him so much.

In response to the note from Chubb, fans have provided a very emotional response in the comments section.

“I will tell my kids about you. I love you man,” one fan commented.

Another chimed in, “Ok, I’m actually crying.”

“I’m so freaking sad. You were the best thing about this team!!! Wish you nothing but the best!” a third comment read.

A fourth comment said, “Nick please don’t make me emotional.”

“I’m not crying…Cleveland loves you!” another fan wrote.

With his chapter now complete with the Browns, Chubb will go down as one of the best running backs in team history. He won’t be forgotten in the city of Cleveland.

He played in 85 games with the Browns, carrying the football 1,340 times for 6,843 yards and 51 touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Chubb also caught 128 passes for 1,042 yards and five touchdowns.

It will be interesting to see how Chubb looks with the Texans. He has looked healthy in his videos posted on social media this offseason. Should he get back to full health and pick up where he left off before the injury, Cleveland may very well regret moving on from him.

Either way, this is a sad time for the Browns and their fans. Chubb will be missed greatly.
