Steelers Players Are Tired of the Aaron Rodgers Situation: Report

The Pittsburgh Steelers still do not have a resolution when it comes to future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Despite the expectation that Rodgers will sign with the team, the two sides have yet to agree to anything concrete.

Rodgers remains a free agent. Seemingly every day, a new report or rumor comes out about his future.

While it still seems likely that the 41-year-old quarterback will sign with the Steelers, something needs to get done soon. Pittsburgh players are not enthused by the ongoing drama surrounding the quarterback situation.

How do Steelers players actually feel about Rodgers and the ongoing reports and speculation? That has now been revealed.

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero has issued a new report, sharing that the players are ready for the situation to be over.

“There are people in that locker room who I believe would tell you they’re already over this entire thing,” Pelissero said. “They just wanna know what’s going on. And they’re sick of hearing about it, and they’re sick of asking about it. They don’t wanna discuss it anymore.”

Pelissero continued on to talk about how rare this kind of situation actually is, and that scenario was also connected indirectly to Rodgers.

“I can’t think of another situation like this since probably the guy who preceded Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay when Brett Favre took it all the way to August 18th with the Vikings and then showed up,” Pelissero said.

Pittsburgh has remained patient with Rodgers. Bringing him onboard would make the Steelers a legitimate Super Bowl contender. While people are getting frustrated, the reasoning behind the team waiting makes perfect sense.

Last season with the New York Jets, Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while completing 63 percent of his passes. Those numbers would be a huge upgrade for Pittsburgh.

Expect to hear a lot more about Rodgers in the coming days. The Steelers will be opening training camp in July. At that point, the veteran quarterback should be in town if he’s going to play for the team in 2025.

Missing OTAs was a disappointment for the fans and players. Hopefully, the team can get a final answer from Rodgers at some point in the next couple of weeks at the latest.
