Indiana has controlled this series vs. the Cavaliers (1) so far, taking Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland, then splitting Games 3 and 4 in Indy, including a blowout win on Sunday in Game 4.

Anyone who watched Game 4 will have no questions about why we’re backing Turner tonight. The versatile big man was lights-out in his team’s blowout win, shooting 7-for-13 from the floor, including 4-for-4 from outside.

Turner is not only red-hot, but also matched up against either the hobbled Evan Mobley or Jarrett Allen, who is an infinitely better defender in the paint than he has outside the 3-point arc.

The great news for Turner points prop bettors tonight is that he has been effective in this series even when he’s been kept quiet from outside: he scored a total of 51 points in Games 1-3 despite making just 4 of his 10 3-point attempts in those games.

Turner should see a lot more than 22 minutes tonight as well, assuming this game is competitive, but that’s all the playing time he needed to fry the Cavs for 20 points in Game 4.

Call us obvious for riding with the guy that just shot 4-for-4 from 3-point land, but Turner is a versatile scorer with a favorable matchup right now, and it also helps his case that he’s taken at least six free throws in two of the four games to date in this series.

First of all, if you expect tonight’s game to be competitive (and/or you like the home favorites to prolong this series), go with the over, as it’s unlikely that Cleveland wins this game without a ton of points.

Indy is just playing too fast, and too effectively on offense, for Cleveland to pull this out in a rock fight.

As for the spread, there are a ton of questions about the Cavaliers, and very few about the Pacers right now, which makes Indy +8 hard to resist.

Closing the Cavs out will be a big challenge, and a strong first half by Cleveland shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Still, based on the combo of the injuries the Cavaliers are dealing with and how little success they’ve had defending this Pacers team, Indiana +8 is the move.
