One woman’s act of compassion has turned into a nightly comedy show from her young child and rescue cat.

In a viral TikTok video, Crystal Parenti gave viewers a look at what life looks like for Leni, a cat rescued from the streets who now finds himself “held hostage” by her 7-year-old’s shower concerts. Since the clip of the desperate feline was posted three days ago, it has received almost 3 million views and over 664,000 likes.

Parenti told Newsweek that Leo loves to sing—and Queen is one of his favorites. “He’s a natural performer and really goes all out in the shower,” she said.

“POV [point of view]: rescued from the streets only to be held hostage by a seven-year-old’s nightly shower concerts,” Parenti captioned the video. “‘Forever Home’ now includes concert tickets.”

The clip shows a closed bathroom door with a single furry paw poking out from underneath it as her child, Leo, sings “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen at the top of his lungs.

“Do you need help, Leni?” Parenti asks the feline in the video as he seems to beg for freedom.

The mom said: “Leni is this odd cat that isn’t scared of water and will follow any family member in the shower.

“This particular night, he was really singing loudly and I went to take a video from outside of the door when I noticed Leni’s paw begging for help,” Parenti added. “I thought it was so funny and couldn’t stop laughing.”

TikTok users were quick to voice their support for Leni—and to lovingly roast him.

“Leni gladly followed and now regretting his decision,” one person wrote. “The paw [equals] SOS MOM … Best buddies till the concert begins.”

It turns out the concerts are far from amateur hour. Another viewer posted: “The fact that he is belting Queen, you should be proud.” And internet viewers agree—knowing that Queen is the soundtrack to Leni’s nightly ordeal made it all the more iconic.

“At least Freddie Mercury, noted cat lover, is grinning somewhere in the afterlife,” one user commented.

“I just wanted some Fancy Feast,” another person imagined the cat’s inner monologue. “Instead, I got Freddie Mercury.”

Still, many felt Leni had only himself to blame.

“In true cat fashion THEY were the ones to follow them into the bathroom in the first place,” one commenter pointed out.

Another cat owner sympathized with the situation all too well: “My cat always wants out when I’m on the toilet for too long,” they wrote. “I’m always like, ‘Well, you just HAD to come in, so you can suffer with me [right now].'”

Though Leni may be rethinking his decisions, it is clear that the bond between him and his young human is strong—even if it includes the occasional Queen solo behind a locked bathroom door.
