A golden retriever’s reaction after seeing his owner pet another dog has left internet users in hysterics.
Dog owner Eden Harper shared a hilarious video on TikTok (@edenharpr) showing the moment she cuddled up to Olive, the dog she was merely babysitting—only to reveal the look of betrayal on her own dog’s face.
As Harper, from Queensland, Australia, pet Olive and stroked her face gently, her furious golden retriever, named Cub, sat upright and appeared to frown at his owner for fussing anyone other than him.
In the days since the clip was shared on TikTok, it has amassed over 180,500 views and more than 38,200 likes at the time of writing.

Newsweek has contacted Harper via TikTok for comment.
The caption layered over the clip reads: “cuddling the dog I’m babysitting, and my dog is disgusted.”
Harper was quick to apologize to Cub, her poor golden retriever, and didn’t want him to take it too personally. While she certainly doesn’t want the two dogs to become rivals, Harper joked in a TikTok comment that Cub is “the most jealous boy” at times unfortunately.
Needless to say, he didn’t look too pleased about her fussing Olive instead of him.
Jealousy in dogs is similar to that which humans experience, and it can be perceived through their body language or emotions, according to the website PetMD. Any dog breed can exhibit signs of jealousy, which may include getting in between their owner and another pet, whining, barking, or growling when their owner pays another pet or person attention.
They may also bump against their owner’s leg as a way of seeking physical closeness or go to the bathroom indoors when they know they’re not supposed to.
Jealousy in dogs can stem from the introduction of a new human or family member, a change in their home environment, or seeing their owner interact with another animal.
In order to manage any signs of jealousy, PetMD suggests fostering a positive association with said new addition and taking all introductions very slowly. This could be done by introducing them to a blanket or piece of clothing with their scent first, before having face-to-face introductions.
The TikTok Reaction
Since going viral on TikTok, Cub has undoubtedly become an internet sensation and social media users can’t get enough of his facial expressions.
Of course, plenty of people defended the angry golden retriever and insisted his owner needed to make amends.
Among the comments on the post, one TikTok user wrote: “He feels beyond betrayed.”
Another person joked: “apologize IMMEDIATELY and endlessly.”
Another person added: “Excuse me Ollie that’s my spot.”
While one commenter joked: “I’ll start packing my things.”
