It’s been a very busy year for video games, and Microsoft‘s Xbox Game Pass platform has been getting a workout, with fantastic games like the excellent Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the surprise release of Oblivion Remastered, and more coming to the service in recent months. May is looking decidedly quieter – so far at least – ahead of the big Nintendo Switch 2 release date, but that doesn’t mean Microsoft is resting on its laurels.

May’s Game Pass releases see a host of previously Game Pass Ultimate-exclusive games filtering their way down to Game Pass Standard, alongside a pretty decent selection of new games coming to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Among them is the highly anticipated DOOM: The Dark Ages, a couple of fantastic indies, and the return of Warhammer: Vermintide 2, which has been absent from the service for a little while now.

Xbox Game Pass Titles Leaving in May 2025

Sadly, whenever new games are added to Game Pass, some leave, too. With the exception of first-party Xbox-published titles, every game on Game Pass eventually gets removed, though as seen with some of the picks above, they do sometimes return. In any case, you can get a 20% discount on all games about to leave the service if you’re subscribed to Game Pass and want to keep playing.
