A first-round series for the ages wraps up with what promises to be a memorable Game 7 tonight in Denver.

Game 1 set the tone with an overtime thriller, and Clippers (5) vs. Nuggets (4) has continued to deliver, setting up a win-or-go-home showdown in primetime tonight.

The Nuggets won Game 5 thanks to a 43-point eruption by Jamal Murray that gave them a 3-2 series, but they were unable to clinch the series on the road in Game 6.

The Clippers rode huge nights by Kawhi Leonard (27 points), James Harden (28 points) and Norman Powell (24 points) in their 111-105 win to force Game 7.

Murray has been an outstanding facilitator throughout the series, with at least six assists in five of the first six games of the series (including 7, 7 and 8 in Games 4, 5 and 6).

Is this a good place to mention that we gave out Murray over 5.5 assists at +104 in Game 6?

In a series that has provided a ton of proof for the popular theory that role players perform much better at home than on the road (see Powell, Norm on the Clippers’ side), I expect Russell Westbrook, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. to capitalize on the open looks they get from Murray tonight.

Murray not only dished out eight assists in Game 6, but also notched an impressive 11 potential assists. For the series, Murray has averaged 9.2 potential assists per game, and if he gets close to that number tonight, he’ll have a great chance to cash this prop.

Another encouraging advanced metric in this series for Murray’s assists props is his usage rate, which is at 24.8 percent across all six games, and it has not dipped below 21.9 percent (Game 4).

I owe James Harden his due for proving me wrong in Game 6, with an oustanding 28-point, 8-assist night after we doubted him.

Still, on short rest, in a hostile atmosphere, I don’t see Harden being nearly as effective tonight, and I think Jokic will ramp up his aggressiveness on offense to carry the Nuggets to a gutty win.

Obviously, those two aren’t the only key players in this matchup, but I don’t see the Clippers winning without a big night from Harden, and his track record tells us we shouldn’t count on that. And while Ivica Zubac has made Jokic work for every basket, I don’t think there’s anything he — or anyone — can do if the three-time MVP decides to carry the load.

Don’t be surprised if this one requires overtime, but I’m going with the home team with the superior playoff track record — yes, Leonard’s a killer in the playoffs, but he’s the only one for LA that fits that bill, while most of Denver’s lineup is just two seasons removed from an NBA title.
