A video capturing a moment of “sheer panic” a couple felt as a tree suddenly crashed onto the deck of their home has gone viral on TikTok.
The clip was posted by @lindsay_lifestyle and has amassed over 490,000 views since it was shared on February 19. The footage was captured in New Jersey, according to the location shared with the post.
A note overlaid on the video reads: “One minute you’re cleaning your house and the next a tree falls on your deck.”
The clip, which features footage from a Ring security camera, begins with a man shown sweeping the stairs, while a woman walks across the room and towards the camera.
Another message across the clip reads: “Randomly got a bad feeling about the dogs being outside. Went to the window to look for them.”
The woman is later shown leaving the room, as a note across the screen reads: “I’m going to get the dogs, it’s really windy outside.” The woman is later heard calling her two dogs to come inside.
While the husband continues to sweep the floor, suddenly a loud crashing noise is heard before the woman screams “Ryan!” as her husband runs down the stairs and out of the home.
The viral post was shared around the time a wind advisory was issued for every county in New Jersey on Wednesday, with wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour forecast at the time by the National Weather Service (NWS).
A gale warning is in effect in parts of New Jersey and nearby Delaware through 6 p.m. ET tonight. “Strong winds will cause hazardous seas, which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility,” the NWS warned on Friday.
‘So Lucky’
The woman in the TikTok clip is heard explaining to her husband that a tree had fallen “inches away” from the woman and the couple’s dogs.
Loud talking is heard in the background as another note on the clip says: “Me in sheer panic that more would fall or that it broke our fence and the dogs would run away.”
The video later cuts to footage of “a big mess” left behind after the fall the next morning.
“Everyone is safe,” a note says, as the clip shows the fallen tree spread across the deck, which was partially damaged with some panels missing. Some of the deck furniture was also shown to be partially destroyed.
A caption shared with the post reads: “When you get a little voice inside your head…listen to it.”
