Ozzy Osbourne, 76, Shares Black Sabbath Concert Update

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Ozzy Osbourne has been gearing up to reunite with his bandmates from Black Sabbath for one final show in 2025, and he just confirmed some details about the performance that fans will probably think are important.

The 76-year-old rock vocalist revealed that he will not be performing a full set with Black Sabbath during their final performance. He shared the news during the Ozzy Speaks segment of his Ozzy’s Boneyard radio show on SiriusXM, according to an article published on Billboard on Sunday, February 16.

“I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath, but I am doing little bits and pieces with them,” Osbourne told his listeners before he explained, “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”

The “Iron Man” singer also noted that he is “trying to get back on [his] feet” and then added, “When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”

Osbourne has not performed a full set since the final date of his No More Tours tour on December 31, 2018, and he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease just two months later.

The news comes after Black Sabbath announced in early February that the original founding members of the band — Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums) — will reunite to play one final farewell show.

The performance has been dubbed “Back to the Beginning” and will take place on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. Promotional artwork for the event was posted on Osbourne’s Instagram on Monday, February 17, confirming that Sabbath will be joined by other rock heavyweights, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, and Pantera, among other performers. The post also noted that Jason Momoa will be hosting the event.
