A Cartier sales associate’s thoughtful gesture for a customer has delighted the internet, leaving social media users obsessed with their adorable new friendship.
While shopping for the perfect wedding gift for her daughter and fiancé at the time, a woman went into numerous luxury stores in Atlanta, Georgia, last year. Her daughter, Mei Mei, who got married in August 2024, explained in a TikTok video (@meimonstaa) that “nobody would pay attention to her” mom because she wasn’t dressed a certain way, and they assumed she wouldn’t buy anything.
However, that wasn’t the case when she walked into the Cartier boutique and was instantly greeted by one of the sales associates, Aaron. In the video, Mei Mei explained that Aaron was incredibly patient, helpful and didn’t judge her mom by what she looked like.
Thanks to Aaron’s help, Mei Mei and her husband received the most wonderful wedding gifts from Cartier last year.
But it appears that the blossoming friendship is still going five months later, because Aaron even sent them some “luxury Cartier red envelopes” to celebrate Chinese New Year. It was such a touching gesture, and the family couldn’t resist going to the store to thank him personally.
Of course, Aaron couldn’t let them leave empty handed, so he gifted Mei Mei and her mom some lavish Cartier chocolates. After sharing this adorable exchange on TikTok, the video went viral with over 3.9 million views and 592,600 likes at the time of writing.

The following day, the Cartier sales associate shared a video on his TikTok account (@awilliatl) to thank Mei Mei and her family for her kind-hearted video, and all the support he received online as a result.
His video captured even more attention in the days that followed, leading to more than 5.3 million views and 615,500 likes on TikTok in just a matter of days.

In the clip, Aaron said he “couldn’t believe the impact” he had on Mei Mei and her family. He was saddened to hear that so many people would avoid going into luxury stores for fear of judgement.
Newsweek has contacted Aaron via TikTok for comment.
“All it takes is one experience where you feel like you’ve been discriminated against, based on what you’re wearing, the color of your skin, and it can ruin it, and that’s really disheartening,” Aaron said in his video.
Social media users have praised Aaron for giving Mei Mei and her mom such a wonderful experience that they can cherish. The overwhelmingly positive response has led to more than 7,100 comments on his TikTok video already.
One comment reads: “Your kindness will be remembered forever by Mei Mei and her family! Thank you for caring.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “In the current climate we live in right now, it’s so beautiful to see genuine kindness. I watched Mei Mei’s video and I definitely cried a little bit.”
While one person responded: “Aaron you are the epitome of how we as humans are supposed to be. Thank you for being so kind. We need more Aarons in this world.”
Another comment jokes: “May all the sales associates across the luxury world take note!”
Newsweek also contacted Cartier via email for comment.
