A dog owner from Louisiana revealed her pup’s unusual bedtime habit in a viral TikTok video, and internet users can’t cope with how cute it is.
In the clip, shared on Monday under the username @niklstew, the pup, an Aussiedoodle mix named Tucker can be seen walking into his makeshift bed and tucking himself in as his owner wishes him a good night.
“Tucker has slept in a crate since he was a puppy. When we got him as a puppy we knew we wanted to crate train him for his own safety,” says the caption.
Dogs usually sleep for about 12 to 14 hours every day, although the amount of sleep they need can vary depending on their age, breed and activity levels. Like us they also go through a sleep cycle, and during their REM phase they can dream.

While they can’t tell us what they dream about when they wake up in the morning, studies suggest they most likely dream of “doggy things,” like running in a field or chasing something. So if you notice your pup twitching their paws at night, they’re probably having a good time in their dreams.
Just like us, pups can have trouble sleeping too, and when that happens, they will show symptoms during the day, like poor memory, irritability, mood disturbances, forgetfulness, inability to recall basic commands and difficulty performing simple tasks, according to a Dogster article reviewed by Dr. Lauren Demos.
Establishing a consistent routine, providing a cozy sleeping area, and giving dogs plenty of opportunities to exercise and get tired throughout the day are a must for their sleep health.
For the poster, training little Tucker was easy, and she’s glad she managed to do it successfully.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 1.4 million views and 110,300 likes on the platform.
One user, Yesi.xoxo, commented: “My three monsters sleeping on my bed right now! I’m sleeping like this. [I] wish I [had] crate trained them.”
User9594398545988 said: “Our dogs crate trained too. Even if we give him the choice of sleeping on our beds or anywhere in the house, he chooses his crate – it’s his safe space!”
Sayheyhey added: “Mine does that too. If we stay up too late, he’ll put himself in his crate.”
