A woman couldn’t cope with the collection of photos she found of a dog at a local thrift store, sharing her discovery on TikTok and delighting viewers.

TikTok user Madeline, who goes by @bleuejeanbaby on the social media platform, shared a short clip late last month showing multiple framed photos of the same dog.

In the viral clip, which has received more than 737,000 views since it was first posted on January 24, Madeline shows various photos of the dog, describing it in the video’s caption as a “very loved baby.”

“Found this whole collection of framed photos of this little dog baby at the thrift today,” the video’s text overlay reads while various photos of the small pup in various poses are displayed, showing the dog’s adorable big black eyes and a sweet snap of it licking its nose.

Also included in the collection was a photo of the small dog dressed for Christmas in a Santa Clause outfit and in a shark costume.

Newsweek has contacted Madeline for comment via TikTok.

A huge number of households in the United States own one or more dog. According to Statista, there were more than 65 million American households with a dog in 2023 and 2024, compared to 46.5 million households who had cats.

The most popular dog breeds in the U.S. in 2023, Statista reports, were French bulldogs, Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, German shepherds, and poodles.

TikTok Users React

Madeline’s video received thousands of comments from other TikTok users who shared their reactions to her thrift store discovery.

One user, Jess, wrote: “I have one like this of a little brown chihuahua in a gold frame I got at the goodwill bins. He’s now in the bathroom of my vintage store for decoration.”

User xo.que commented: “Oh my heart. That was someone’s special baby.”

Natalie posted: “I would’ve had to sit down in the aisle for a good cry. what a sweet baby.”

User svidamom added: “The feeling of sonder that the dog and his owner both once lived a complex life like us and now they’re just a footprint of what’s left on this earth.”

User Bad.Luck.Duck wrote: “I found a pair of custom printed socks at the thrift store once, with two very cute dogs. I bought them and wear them once a week & always say ‘hi guys’ when I put them on. They’re not forgotten.”

User pixarmomdupe posted: “That dog was someone’s world. My guess is the mommy and baby are together now in heaven.”
