Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has opted out of attending the Pro Bowl Games, and he has now been replaced by his divisional rival.

According to Ari Meirov, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will officially replace Jackson.

Wilson ended the 2024 season with 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also added 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns to his total tally.

The interesting aspect of Wilson being added to the Pro Bowl roster is that he did n not play the entire season. Wilson missed six games due to a severe calf injury he suffered during training camp.

Regardless of the injury, Wilson was instrumental in helping the Steelers get to the playoffs. The end of the team’s season was not ideal, though, as they lost their final five games, including the playoffs.

Despite the losses, Wilson played some good football, which has warranted him a trip to the Pro Bowl. The Steelers quarterback is now a 10-time Pro Bowler but has now been voted in since the 2021 season when he was still part of the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson might also not be with the Steelers following the 2024 season. He was asked following the playoffs if there were discussions held about him being retained, which he stated had not happened.

Now, Steelers President Art Rooney revealed that both Wilson and Justin Fields won’t be signed in 2025.

“I think they’re both capable quarterbacks, and my preference would be to sign one of them,” Rooney said. “That’ll be a priority, and I think that will give us the best opportunity to move forward. Obviously, we’ll be looking in the draft as well. We’ve got a whole quarterback room to fill, and so there’s jobs open in there. I wouldn’t be surprised if we look at the draft, as well, either this year or next.”

For now, Wilson can join his fellow stars at the Pro Bowl, while he awaits what might happen in his career next.
