Bruce Willis is showing his appreciation to first responders amid the L.A. wildfires.
On Thursday, January 16, the 69-year-old famed actor’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, posted a rare video of Bruce’s interaction with the LAPD on Instagram. The Die Hard actor is currently battling frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which, according to Mayo Clinic can cause the lobes in the brain to shrink, affecting behavior, language, and more.
Emma, 46, put a black-and-white filter on the video and removed the original sound, replacing it with Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California” (Mandolin / Guitar Mix) song.

In the first clip, the Oscar-winning actor — who wears a New York Yankees baseball cap, sneakers, and a t-shirt/jacket combo — can be seen shaking an officer’s hand and conversing with him. The man tells him, “We appreciate you.” The video quickly pans to two other clips of Bruce interacting with them and a picture of the Pulp Fiction actor with one of the officers.
“Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a ‘thank you for your service.’ Yesterday was no different ❤️🤍💙,” Emma wrote in the caption of her post.
Fans took to the comment section to express their love and support for Bruce.
“This is so sweet 🥹 a reflection of his core personality 🫶🏽,” one fan commented.
Another person wrote, “He has always been great with the public and a great human being. Cognitive deficits cannot take that away from him.”
“Nice reminder for the harder days that he is still in there♥️,” an individual noted.
The two-time Emmy Award Winner’s daughter, Tallulah Willis, also left a comment, writing, “This makes my heart so freaking full.”
Bruce shares daughters Tallulah, 30, Scout, 33, and Rumer, 36, with his ex-wife Demi Moore. The pair were married from 1987 to 2000. Bruce and Emma share daughters, Evelyn, 10, and Mabel, 12.
The L.A. wildfires began on Tuesday, January 7, and have burned down thousands of houses throughout Southern California, including the homes of A-listers like Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton.
