Kyle Busch And Wife Fight Back Tears After Son Brexton’s Huge Tulsa Win

Brexton Busch, at only nine years old, achieved a huge milestone by winning the coveted Golden Driller trophy at the 2025 Tulsa Shootout’s Junior Sprint A-Main event.

Brexton led the entire 20-lap race from start to finish without faltering. This win not only marks a personal triumph for the young racer but is also a proud moment for his well-known racing family.

The Tulsa Shootout is a major event in the micro sprint racing world, drawing young drivers from all over the United States to compete. The trophy Brexton won, the Golden Driller, is a prestigious symbol of success in micro sprint racing.

Landing this trophy at such a young age is quite the feat and highlights Brexton’s growing talent in the sport. He’s been racing competitively for a few years and already has a record that includes multiple wins across various states and junior sprint categories.

Kyle Busch, Brexton’s father and a successful NASCAR driver, shared his immense pride and excitement over his son’s win. With his extensive experience in NASCAR and multiple championships to his name, Kyle is no stranger to the stresses of the racing world. However, he claimed that watching his son race was more stressful than the Daytona 500. He explained to Flo Racing:

“I think this is more stress and more butterflies on me here for him, than it is for the Daytona 500.

“This is just such a huge deal and means so much to our family and what we do. It’s what we pour our lives into and how we take away from our anniversary week and we spend it in Tulsa every year now. This is worth it. The Driller is worth it. Just can’t be prouder of the boy and everything he’s done.”

Samantha Busch, Brexton’s mother and Kyle’s wife, tearfully shared her pride, reflecting on the dedication Brexton showed in preparing for this race. She commented:

“I was crying, I’m so proud. He’s worked at this, he was so upset last year. Literally every race he went to this year, he was like, ‘I’m doing it for Tulsa. I’m doing it for the Driller.’ And he did it. He’s so happy.”

As for Brexton himself, he was thrilled with the victory. During the race, he maintained focus, successfully avoiding any lapped traffic, and kept his lead even when faced with a tricky berm on Lap 14. He explained:

“That was awesome. I’m so glad to be here and win. I’ve been watching all the races from last year to get ready for this year. I won all the races this week to get here. It’s awesome to win this race.”

“Yeah, I was lucky to not get to lap traffic. I was worried about that. It was awesome to win. I thought I gave it away on Lap 14 when I hit the berm and I’m glad I didn’t.”
